I guess the new year is just one of those canon opportunities for a Journal entry huh? I've certainly been needing to update my journal for a few weeks now lessee...since last I put up an entry, I finished out the fall semester of my last year of College, went home for Christmas Break, had a whoooole week of Christmas, and just last night celebrated New Years...now for the details xD

This semester could have been a lot better. I had such a bad case of Senioritis, it made for a very difficult time in a couple of my classes. All things said and done I'm satisfied that I passed everything, and its one more semester that I'll never have to take again, but at the same time I plan on putting more effort into my last semester in college. This means that I'm gonna leave my laptop at home. looking back on all of my time at school, my biggest distraction has always been locking myself up in my dorm room and wasting time on the internet...I tend to get more work done if I'm in a computer lab, so I'm going to force myself to have no other options this time. There's a high likelyhood that I won't have very many updates here other than any pictures taken at cons this next semester, but it won't keep me from checking messages when I can ;]

Christmas was pretty crazy this year. I had Christmas with Malinda and her family, Christmas with my own family, and then spent a few days visiting relatives over in Oklahoma for another Christmas, so I had a Christmas week instead of just one day. I had some fun times picking out presents for friends; there were a few complications here and there, but I was quite satisfied with what I got for everyone, and I loved all of the gifts that I received
My favorite present was the gift that Malinda's grandparents got me. Malinda picked it out but it was technically from them, so I was quite shocked when I opened it up to find the first 9 episodes of Gurren Lagann xDDDD

New Year's Eve was a real blast! I invited quite a few friends over (nearly all of We Heart Cardgames actually) and we had all kinds of fun. We played some Mario Cart Racing on my sister's Wii, watched the first disc of the previously mentioned Christmas favorite (freaking epic/hilarious show btw), played a couple of rounds of Apples to Apples, and also a few rounds of good old fashioned hide and seek (nastalgia is wonderful, and somehow I managed to fit myself into the dryer in the laundry room for one round, lolz). We finished the night out with Wall-E, which I hadn't yet seen actually, so it was quite a nice finish for me

I had a LOT of fun this year. I doubled the number of anime conventions that I've been to so far, as well as the friends I've made through cosplay. I got to study abroad for a month, push the limits of my cosplay and art skills, learn quite a lot about myself and those closest to me, and develop a strong relationship with the girl of my dreams ^___________^
There were so many highlights to 2008! So many grand adventures and fond memories that I couldn't have asked for a better year, but at the same time I know that the good times will only continue to increase, and I very much look forward to 2009, and every year afterwards. Happy New guys! Hope yours was equally enjoyable, and I hope this new year brings much fun and joy to us all!
